PetPEP school visit

23/11/2016
Zane, Noah,and  Deborah with Bruiser.
Year 2 students had a treat when they attended a workshop with visiting animal carers. Trish, a vet nurse from Townsville Vet Clinic came with her stumpy tail cattle dog and spoke about the importance of having clean water, regular checkups with the vet, and regular excerise for our dogs. Mark from RSPCA spoke to the students about ways to approach unknown animals. The key lesson was to always ask permission of owners before patting dogs. He also showed ways to protect ourselves if dogs become aggressive. Fight for Flight NQ Birds of Prey carer, Deborah bought in Bruiser a Barking Owl to show the students. Bruiser delighted the students with his head turning ability!
